Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2026
Last updated: September 6, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Kerfia ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Kerfia mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
This document is provided in English. A Russian version may also be available in the App.
2. Summary
Kerfia is a puzzle game. Most gameplay data stays on your device. Optional online features (world ranking, progress restore, daily challenge) may store a limited set of technical and account data on our servers.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not require your name, email address, or phone number to play or to join world ranking.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 On your device
The App may store locally:
- Game progress (completed levels, stars, scores, attempts)
- Settings (language, sound, haptics, and similar preferences)
- Hint balances and unlock state
- A saved world-ranking nickname and related local flags, if you join ranking
This data remains on your device unless you use optional online features.
3.2 Optional world ranking and cloud account
If you register for world ranking, we may process:
- An anonymous account identifier
- A randomly generated public nickname (pseudonym) shown on the leaderboard
- A one-way hash of a recovery code (the plain recovery code is shown to you once and is not stored by us in readable form)
- Progress and related state needed to restore play or keep ranking scores up to date
- Ranking opt-in status and total stars used for ranking
We do not require your name, email address, or phone number for this feature.
3.3 Other optional online features
If available and used, we may also process:
- Daily challenge results (score, timing, and related metrics)
- Purchase or entitlement records needed to unlock paid content
- Progress sync data tied to your anonymous account
3.4 Technical data
When the App communicates with our servers, standard technical data may be processed (for example device/app version information and security or error logs needed to operate the App).
3.5 Analytics
In the current version, gameplay analytics events are used for development diagnostics and are not sent to third-party advertising networks.
3.6 What we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos, or microphone audio for advertising
- Content from other apps on your device
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide gameplay and restore optional cloud progress
- Operate world ranking and daily challenges
- Issue and verify recovery codes (via one-way hash)
- Honor purchases and entitlements
- Maintain security and fix bugs
- Improve the App
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information only:
- With infrastructure providers that host and operate the App backend, under appropriate safeguards
- When required by law or to protect rights and safety
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar corporate event, subject to this Policy
Your public ranking nickname and score may be visible to other players on the world leaderboard.
We do not name individual vendors in this Policy; the set of providers may change as we operate the App.
6. Retention
Local data remains until you clear app data or use the in-App delete option.
Server-side data tied to an anonymous identifier is retained while needed to provide optional online features, or longer if required by law, security, or fraud prevention.
If you delete your account through the App, we delete associated server-side account data as described in the App, subject to limited retention needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
7. Your Choices
- You can clear local progress from the App settings.
- You can leave ranking on a device while keeping the cloud nickname recoverable with your recovery code, where that option is offered.
- You can delete your ranking account and related server data from the App settings where available.
- You can uninstall the App at any time.
- You can disable network access for the App at the device level; local play may still work depending on your device and App mode.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, use the support channel shown on the App’s store page.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us via the store listing support channel and we will delete it where appropriate.
9. International Processing
Our servers and infrastructure may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Keep your recovery code private; anyone with the code may reclaim your ranking profile.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and at the public URL for this Policy, and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy where permitted by law.
12. Contact
