1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Kerfia mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Optional online features (including world ranking) are also governed by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy.

2. The App

Kerfia is a single-player puzzle game. Some features work offline. Other features — such as world ranking, progress restore via recovery code, daily challenge, and purchases — may require a network connection and are optional.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Eligibility

You must be old enough to use the App under the laws of your country. The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that higher age applies).

4. Accounts and world ranking

4.1 Optional registration

You may play without joining world ranking. Registration for ranking creates a cloud profile with a randomly generated public nickname (pseudonym). We do not require your real name, email, or phone number.

4.2 Recovery code

When you register, you may receive a one-time recovery code. You are responsible for storing it safely. Anyone with the code may reclaim the ranking profile on another device. We cannot reliably restore access if you lose the code.

4.3 Public display

Your nickname and ranking score may be visible to other players on the world leaderboard.

4.4 Leaving and deletion

Where offered in the App, you may leave ranking on a device or delete your ranking account and related server data. Local progress may remain on the device unless you also erase local data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit bugs, automate play, or manipulate ranking or scores
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or other players’ data
• Reverse engineer the App except where permitted by mandatory law
• Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Interfere with the App’s operation or other users’ enjoyment of it

We may suspend or remove ranking access or related data if we reasonably believe these Terms were violated.

6. Virtual items and purchases

The App may offer in-app purchases, virtual currency, hints, unlocks, or ad removal. Virtual items have no real-world cash value outside the App, are non-transferable except as required by platform rules, and are licensed — not sold — for use in the App.

Purchases are processed by the applicable app store. Refunds are subject to that store’s policies.

7. Content and license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

Artwork, levels, seals, and other App content are provided for personal use within the App and for personal keepsakes you export where the App allows (for example saving an image to your device). We do not claim exclusive rights that would prevent your personal non-commercial use of such exports. You may not redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit App content without permission.

8. Third-party services

The App may rely on infrastructure and platform services (including app stores). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services.

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent availability of online features, or that ranking or sync will always succeed.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, ranking position, or virtual items, arising from your use of the App.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and at the public URL for these Terms, and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
